Huber & Suhner cables
HVkabel.nl uses high-voltage cables from Huber+Suhner. These are top-of-the-line products that can be used without additional ribbed tubing or cold protection and still fully meet extremely high requirements for ductility and durability.
The right cable for every project
Not every orange cable is suitable for a high-voltage project. Huber+Suhner’s RADOX cables have specific properties that cables from competitors such as Coroflex lack.
Why Huber & Suhner Radox
RADOX cables are reinforced in a special way by using electron beams to create ‘crosslinks’ in the insulation material, which consists of thermoplastic polymers. Hence the name RADOX: “radiation X-linked. Huber+Suhner has been applying this self-developed technology since the 1970s.
The cable insulation material acquires unmatched thermal, mechanical and chemical properties due to the cross-links and, despite the relatively thin insulation layer, is extremely resistant to abrasion, cutting, chemical influences and high and low temperatures.
Thermal benefits of RADOX cables:
- Resistant to melting and droplet formation of insulation material during short circuits.
- High fire resistance.
- Long life at low temperatures.
- Minimal shrinkage of insulation material at higher temperatures.
- Maintains performance under long-term loading in high temperatures.
Mechanical advantages of RADOX cables:
- Small bending radius (4x the outside diameter).
- Thin but extremely strong insulation layer.
- Extreme wear resistance.
- High resistance to cutting and damage.
Chemical advantages of RADOX cables:
- High resistance to Uv radiation, ozone and (sea) water.
- Resistant to attack by oil, battery acid, grease, AdBlue, solvents or other chemicals.
