The design comes to life: from 2D to 3D

In consultation with the customer, cable lengths, wire colors, wire thicknesses and connectors are chosen. All this leads to the prototype with all discussed specifications that can be extensively tested and validated. Thus, the design is refined in close contact with the customer.

Making and testing the first connections

With the paper electrical schematic in hand, the first wires are drawn. This applies to a one-time wiring job as well as the prototype of a series product. The wire pulling is an exciting moment with the goal of “first just seeing if everything works.”

The engineers also determine the cable routing at this stage. How is the cable harness placed as optimally and efficiently as possible? How is the cable harness insensitive to faults and how does it function? If this requires bracketry in the form of cutting and setting or milling parts, StekkerSnel produces this in-house with its own 3D printing expertise.

Throughout the prototyping and testing process, validation and quality assurance is constantly in the engineers’ minds. With the custom made ‘Final Inspection Station’ designed specifically for each job, we guarantee one hundred percent quality. Every wiring harness, from basic standard quality to far advanced product, will be proven to meet very strict quality requirements.

Introduction

The engineer immerses himself in your product and plucks out the application in detail. Even at this early stage, the customer's quality requirements are leading. In this design phase, the expertise and creativity of our engineers is essential.

Quote

Together with the customer, the form of cooperation is agreed upon. In addition, unit prices and/or the price of full support for the project are determined.

Getting started with the design

Based on the agreements, StekkerSnel draws the schematics and the design of the tree on paper. This already anticipates the phase of testing and efficient production.

After the paper design and the tested and refined prototype, the picture is complete. Time for procurement of the desired material and action in the team of dedicated and well-trained people. Quality always remains leading: The first wiring harness is the exact same as the last.

Continuity

Throughout the entire production process there is close contact with the customer about the progress. Finally, we coordinate the timing of delivery and the method of packaging.
